HIGH RISE RESEDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
During my work placement, I contributed to the external design and development of a high rise residential building. This multi million pound development would house a range of different residential spaces. With one bed, two bed and studio apartments being available.
My primary role whilst working on this project came at the later stages of the design, where I worked on the external envelope of the development. As this building lies in a conservation area, the decision was made to create a contemporary response to historical and heritage assets in the area. This was achieved by using a range of different brick styles and details, with the 'flutes' running up the side of the building to reflect the previous use of the site. Alongside this traditional material, a more contemporary corten copper cladding. This was used in order to set the building apart from the other local developments which are currently being designed in this area of the city. |
